Survival Prepper: A Wildfire Survival Guide

As the world gets drier and hotter, wildfires have become one of the most realistic events people should prepare for.

Wildfires can start by nature, human negligence, and becoming more and more common every year.

I live in California, where you advised us to prepare from July to September.

Sadly, Climate change is making regions hotter and drier. Nowadays, a single spark cab erupts into a massive blaze.

That means wildfire prepping has never been more crucial.

The last few years have brought us the deadliest wildfires the U.S. has ever seen, and there are no signs of it slowing down anytime soon.

While wildfires are fast and unpredictable, often, there is some time to escape if one is coming your way — as long as you have taken the time to prepare. What do you need to know if there is a wildfire threat toward your home?

The Risks

Understanding the risks of wildfires is extremely important. Depending on the time of year, the location, and other key playing factors.

Whether you own a home or are a current renter, there are various ways to protect your assets.

If you are a homeowner, you might find difficulty finding a company willing to insure it for fire.

Contact your state’s wildfire risk number to find something that better fits your needs.

Retrofitting

If your current home does not contain fireproof building materials, you might want to consider retrofitting your property to lower the risk. This could mean re-roofing with flameproof materials, covering vents with metal mesh to prevent cinders from getting pulled into the ventilation system, and taking other steps to make your house fire-resistant.

Be in The Know

Staying informed is your best resource during fire season, especially in places where you can see the smoke from a distance but might not have the best idea of where the fire is.

Stay on top of any updates as they come through your local channels. Emergency services will update you multiple times throughout the day with details like the size of the fire, how much of it is contained, and where it might spread next.

Stock Up on Your Supplies

No matter the situation, you will need supplies. Going to the grocery store won’t be an option until the fire is out and things start to return to normal, so you want to make sure you have everything you need on hand. Backpacks will be the easiest to carry, so buy a few durable ones for each person in your household when it’s time to evacuate.

Store food and water in portable containers like coolers to make these goods easier to transport.

Here are a few items you should consider adding to your list:

* 1 gallon of water per person per day

* Nonperishable Foods

* Cash

* First-aid supplies

* Pet supplies

* OTC and prescription medicine

* Extra Clothes and Shoes

Ideally, you want to have enough supplies for up to two weeks, but at minimum, you want to have enough supplies to be self-sustaining for at least three days.

Get Ready to RUN

If a fire is coming your way, your only choice is to evacuate or die. It’s that simple. If you have to leave, be ready to run.

Having a loaded truck or trailer with your supplies and the things you can’t stand to lose is a great way to be prepared.

Be sure your trailer is in good shape before fire season starts, keeping it clean and in a clear path for easy and efficient escape. The last thing you need is to lose all your supplies because of a maintenance issue that could be avoided. The same rules apply to your smaller vehicles. Do not leave yourself stranded with an unreliable car. You won’t be able to outrun the fire on foot.

Plan Your Escape

Where would you go if a fire threats your home? What if the wildfire cuts off your main evacuation route? Plan and practice your escape route ahead of time to avoid making dangerous mistakes.

Predicting where the fire might spread can be difficult, and your main course can quickly end up cut off by a rapidly growing wildfire. Leave yourself some alternatives so you can get away safely.

Once you have planned your routes, practice them. Hook up your trailer and drive. Note places where the trees and brush are near the road because if they catch fire, it could create problems for your plan.

 Time For You To Go

Although, this should be common sense and often forgotten. If there is an evacuation order or advised to leave, go. Do not wait around to see if the fire might change its path. Throw your family and your pets in the car, hook up your trailer of supplies if you have one, and leave. There is no time to waste precious minutes trying to pack every – little – sentimental item.

Being a Prepper Can Save You

Wildfires are a part of life for people in many parts of the world. Starting to prepare could save your life and makes it easier to rebuild if the worst happens and a fire takes your home.

Remember, regardless of what happens, your house and everything in it is replaceable. Your life and the lives of your loved ones are not.

9 Bible Verses About Survival Preparedness

Living in today’s world, we depend on technology for just about everything. It has become so advanced that I find myself leaving the house without my wallet from time to time. Almost every business has an app that links your credit card, and if that’s unavailable, at minimum, they accept apple pay.
While modern technology has been a lifesaver for most, it’s taken away the desire to learn or understand the importance of basic survival skills that will keep you alive and thriving.

Unfortunately, in today’s world many wait for the last minute possible to prepare and often find themselves a little too late. I’m sure everyone remembers the toilet paper shortage a couple of years ago. well, that was on a much, much smaller scale.

Let’s say there’s a short-term disaster and the grocery stores are not accessible for a couple of weeks. If you look in your pantry, is there enough for you are your family to live hold out?
Jesus understood what the end time would be like, he gave us instruction on how to overcome it and how not to be drawn to distractions.

The principles of preparedness are found throughout the Bible with several passages devoted to being prepared, such as:

Therefore, stay awake, for you know neither the day nor the hour. –Matthew 25:13.

You see that a person is justified by what he does and not by faith alone.
-James 2:24

In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed
-Corinthians 15:52, King James Version

I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
-Philippians 4:13

When evening had already come, because it was the preparation day, that is, the day before the Sabbath.
-Mark 15:42

Preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort, with great patience and instruction.
-2 Timothy 4:2

My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge; because you have rejected knowledge, I reject you from being a priest to me.
-Hosea 4:6

And all who dwell on earth will worship it, everyone whose name has not been written before the foundation of the world in the book of life of the Lamb who was slain. -Revelation 13:8

Therefore, prepare your minds for action, keep sober in spirit, fix your hope completely on the grace to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ. -1 Peter 1:13

I wanted to share this because when it comes to preparedness and survival, I think salvation is the most important survival topic we can talk about. In the end, if Christians are right, it’s the only way one can ensure their ultimate survival.
We look to the future but are only guaranteed the present. Are we living by what we believe? Are we truly living by faith?

Can Christians Also Be Survival Prepper’s?

I read a story today that really freaked me out because it said “it’s a sin to be a prep for the end of the world”. It went into detail about having faith in God and knowing he would take care of his believers (regardless of how bad or dangerous of a situation) is all you need to do.

As a fellow Christian, my faith in God has never been stronger. however, If there was a black-out due to a power grid failure, leaving me and my family with no food or water for days or weeks on end, how would I survive that?

I called my good friend and pastor, Chris because he always helps with calming my nerves and remembering god’s message. As it turns out, I’m not the only one that feels puzzled and scared about my future from time to time.

Christians all around the world are preoccupied with the end of the world. The media has shown the empty shelves in grocery stores nationwide, and price gouges in almost every food and product. In pop culture, you see it in movies and TV series. However, there is a balance It’s easy to look at today’s world and feel unsettled. Although many Christians are troubled with fear, anxiety, and worry. There’s a sense of feeling powerless and defeated as we look at the unstable and roller-coaster of a world we live in today. Always remember, “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear though the earth gives way, though the mountains are moved into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam, though the mountains tremble at its swelling.” Psalm 46:1–3.

Our savor does not want us to live in a constant state of anxiousness. During hard times like these, he wants us to remember God has not failed us. He has promised to be with us in the middle of tragedy.

A huge area of controversy in prepping today is whether Christians should be preppers. Each situation is unique, but it’s highly encouraged to take your unique situation to God in prayer and ask for His guidance.

Without a question, It is absolutely biblical to prepare yourself and your family for the future when God provides you with the opportunity to do so—spiritually and physically.

Our faith and focus should always remain on Christ, prepping is purely an opportunity we can utilize to be a good steward of God’s blessings and minister to others in times of need.

Well, that’ll all from me for the day. My best friend from Puerto Rico is in town for his birthday and I’ve got to start getting ready (we’re going to a fancy sushi restaurant). But I did want to share what’s been on my mind all day and see if anyone else feels the same? I would love to hear all about it if anyone feels comfortable enough to share. 😊

Survival Prepper: Canned Foods Vs. Freeze-Dried

As a Prepper, you will store many things in case of an emergency – first aid, power, gas, tools, and water. However, shelf-stable food storage is by far one of the most important pieces of the puzzle. For reasons that we will outline below, Freeze Dried food is the Best Survival Food choice for Preppers and others thinking of long-term storage.

The types of Prepper food that you have stored can make all the difference in a survival scenario. There are a number of different benefits that come from storing the right foods. Aside from not having to leave your home and face the disaster to eat, the right foods can provide your family with a level of comfort and security for many years.

When analyzing the best food storage options for Preppers consider the following shelf life for various long-term food storage:

  • Canned food (low acid) – 2 to 5-year shelf life (per USDA)
  • Canned food (high acid) – 1.5 to 2-year shelf life (per USDA)
  • Dehydrated food – up to 15-year shelf life
  • Freeze-dried food – up to 30-year shelf life

While canned goods are easy to pick up at the grocery store and stock in your cabinet, for true Prepping needs, canned goods are not good enough.

Yes, canned goods can last way longer than the recommended date, but I would much rather invest in high-quality food that will last for up to 30 years myself! Check out why Freeze Fried food is superior to Canned Food below!

The canning process takes foods in a fresh state and preserves them in an, often, salty brine and a vacuum-sealed environment that is void of oxygen. It is in this state that bacteria are starved of oxygen and cannot grow rapidly. This makes the food last longer.

Most canned foods can last for a few years. There are even lengths behind the best by the date that canned goods can last. This makes them a great option for long-term food storage. Canned foods can also be found at deep discounts and you can often buy 10 canned food items for less than $10.

You can find most anything canned! Some of the best options for prepping and long-term food storage are things like canned meats, beans, vegetables, fruits, soups, and sauces.

The basic process of freeze-drying starts with taking fresh or cooked foods and cooling them to a temperature of -40 degrees Fahrenheit. These foods are then subjected to a powerful vacuum that surrounds the food. Then, as the food is slowly and carefully warmed the ice turns to vapor and is removed.

This process is more thorough than canning and creates a product that can be packed with a desiccate to last for as much as 30 years.

The types of foods that freeze-dry well are a combination of fresh and cooked foods. Freeze-dried meats do well, as do fresh foods. They retain much of their texture and flavor, which is an added bonus.

While many people will echo the fact that freeze-dried food comes with that incredible shelf life, there are a tremendous amount of benefits outside of just being able to store freeze-dried foods for a couple of decades, in most cases. Let’s have a look at some of those overwhelming benefits.

TEXTURE AND TASTE OF FREEZE-DRIED FOODS

Canned goods were responsible for stocking peoples’ pantries all over the world! They made it so that everyone could have carrots, asparagus, cream of mushroom soup, and beef stew whenever they wanted. However, because of the deterioration and cooking of vegetables required, they also turned a whole generation off to vegetables. The idea was that these foods were mushy and flavorless.

Fresh fruits and vegetables that are freeze-dried maintain much of their taste and keep a crunchy texture in the dried state. This makes the fruits and vegetables great little snacks. When rehydrated they still look like vegetables and taste like them as well.

NUTRITION

The freeze-drying process assures that these foods maintain much more of their nutrient profile than foods that are canned and stored in a brine. These vitamins and minerals will make an enormous difference in a survival situation.

LESS ROTATION COMPARED TO CANNED GOODS

While less acidic canned goods can last up to 5 years past the best by date, freeze-dried foods can last up to 30 years if stored in the right conditions. This means you do not have to concern yourself with rotation as much as you do with canned goods. Maybe 1-2 rotations in your lifetime – How crazy is that?!

SPACE AND WEIGHT

One of the biggest benefits of freeze-dried foods is that they take up so little space and weigh next to nothing because all the moisture has been removed from them. This means you can get really creative about storage and the places you can shove a little extra.

BUILDING MEALS USING FREEZE DRIED FOOD

You can combine freeze-dried foods to create meals and store these foods for quick solutions that just require hot water. Think of it as making your own backpacking meals. These mixes of ingredients can be stored in ball jars and used to make quick meals in a hurry or in a disaster.

You will be able to fill your pantry quickly, easily, and affordably with canned foods. That being said, freeze-dried foods are the superior product for Preppers and long-term storage, and you should consider incorporating them as the foundation of your emergency food storage plan!

Doomsday and the End of Days Approaching

Doomsday, end of times, end of days. Call it what you will, but as Christians, we look forward to it.

Why?

Because it means Jesus is coming to save us.

He’ll rescue us from this scorched Earth and we’ll ascend into Heaven, to live out our days together with God.

And to be honest, it may be closer than you think.

Geopolitical tensions are rising with the threat of Russia’s invasion.

Food shortages are affecting modern America as well as third-world Africa.

And you only have to look at the Capitol Hill riots to see how easy a civil war could break out.

So let me ask you this:

How will you protect your family from this chaos?

Because of the rise into Heaven with Jesus, we must first survive the end days. Only then will He take us to The Promised Land.

Does that mean living on tinned rations in underground bunkers? Or sleeping with an AK47 under your pillow? I don’t believe so.

All you actually need is a simple, homemade device crafted from parts you can pick up for pennies on the dollar.

It’s likely you even have most of them sitting in your kitchen drawers already!

This video presentation reveals exactly how to survive after the fall and thrive.

And in my opinion, that’s essential to make it through alive, ready, and waiting to rise into Heaven with Our Lord Jesus Christ.

Members of my flock, rest assured, this new survival revelation comes with my divine blessing.

I hope you heed my advice and you’re ready for when He comes.

I’m all set, are you?

Defend your family, and rise with Jesus

Trump’s Biggest Battle Foretold In The Bible

Is Trump’s Biggest Battle Foretold In The Bible?

It’s no secret that President Trump is engaged
in many different battles right now…

And out of them all, it’s his battle with big pharma
that’s been largely ignored by the media.

Yet according to a controversial pastor, it’s this very battle
that could have the greatest impact on your health
and even your longevity.

Because Pastor Andrew believes that Trump is holding
a “secret weapon” that he is about to unleash on big pharma…

A weapon that comes straight from the bible…
And will not only defeat these “crooked pain pill peddlers”
(who profit from your frustration and misery) – but more importantly,
could help relieve pain, suffering, sickness,
and even slow down the natural aging process.

At first, I must admit, this all seemed pretty far fetched to us.

But I was intrigued by the pastor’s passion,
and obvious belief in what he was saying.

So I decided to watch his video.

Click here to watch this video before it’s banned!

And frankly, it was as shocking to me as it was eye-opening.

But you be the judge for yourself.

Report Reveals 40 Priests Sexually Abused Minors over 70 Years at Vermont Catholic Church

A report from Vermont’s Roman Catholic Church has revealed “credible and substantiated” allegations of sexual abuse of minors by 40 priests in nearly 70 years.

The report says none of the priests are still working in ministry and many are dead, the Associated Press reports.

“While most of these allegations took place at least a generation ago, the numbers are still staggering,” said Bishop Christopher Coyne, who leads the Roman Catholic Diocese of Burlington, which covers the entire state.

All of the allegations except one occurred before 2000, according to the report.

The report came after Coyne commissioned the investigation when the Vermont attorney general’s office began its own investigation of abuse at a now-closed Catholic orphanage in the state.

Coyne said the abuse “has been our family secret” and that it is time for the truth to surface so families can begin to heal.

“Family secrets can be toxic,” Coyne said during a news conference at the diocese’s South Burlington headquarters. “Harmful past experiences, unspoken, unaddressed and known only by a few, fester like neglected wounds.”

The report investigated the records of 52 priests in the state, but the seven-member committee could only substantiate allegations against 40 priests.

Committee member and abuse survivor John Mahoney said Rev. Edward Foster abused him in the early 1970s when he was in the seventh grade. Mahoney, now 65, reached a legal settlement with the church. Foster’s name was among the priests named in the Vermont report.

“One can only hope that this offers some opportunity for healing of individuals, but healing within the church as well,” Mahoney said.

This isn’t the first report to detail the names of priests with allegations of sexual abuse. In July, the Diocese of Manchester released a list of 73 names of priests with a history of sexual abuse of minors.

Church Sparks Controversy After Holding ‘Inclusive’ Joint Birthday Celebration for Jesus, Muhammad

A Church of England church in London has been criticized after holding a joint birthday celebration for Jesus and Muhammad in an effort to be “inclusive.”

The “Milad, Advent and Christmas Celebration” took place on Sunday at All Saints Church in Kingston upon Thames earlier this month, according to Premier.

An Islamic prayer was recited and a birthday cake was cut during the hour-long celebration, which was advertised as an event “marking the birthday of Prophet Mohammed and looking forward to the birthday of Jesus.”

The church organized the event alongside the Kingston Inter-Faith Forum and the South London Inter-Faith Group, notes the outlet.

Prominent Christian blogger Archbishop Cranmer criticized the church for “rejoicing in both, eulogizing both, solemnizing both, glorifying both, honoring both” and questioned this “sensitively missional” approach, saying that exalting Muhammad in churches suggests that Muhammad is greater than Jesus.

“Every time a church accords Muhammad the epithet ‘Prophet’, they are rejecting the crucifixion, denying the resurrection of Christ, and refuting that the Word was made flesh and dwelt among us, for Muhammad denied all of these foundational tenets of the Christian faith.”

However, a spokesperson for the Diocese of Southwark defended the event, saying it “enabled Christians, Muslims and others to meet together in order to promote better understanding, conversation, and relationships.

“It was not a service and the event broke no Canon law.”

Earlier this year, a passage from the Koran denying that Jesus is the Son of God was read during a service at St. Mary’s Episcopal Cathedral in Glasgow, prompting one of the queen’s chaplains, Rev. Gavin Ashenden, to step down from his position.

“Because I think it a higher and more compelling duty to speak out on behalf of the faith, than to retain a public honor which precludes me doing so at this time, I resigned my post,” he explained at the time.

Ashenden felt compelled to speak out against the Quran reading, which he considered to be “a fairly serious error.”

“To have a reading from the Koran at that point was a fairly serious error for the Christian worshipping community, but to choose the reading they chose doubled the error,” he told BBC Radio 4 in an interview. “Of all passages you might have read likely to cause offence, that was one of the most problematic.”

In a letter he wrote for The Times, he also demanded that the church apologize to Christians who are enduring intense persecution from Muslims.

“The problem with what happened in Glasgow was that although it was presented as a way of building bridges and a way of educating people it was done badly in the wrong way in the wrong place in the wrong context.,” he said. “It should not happen in the holy Eucharist and particularly a Eucharist whose main intention is to celebrate Christ the word made flesh come into the world.”

Texas Passes Ten New Laws Loosening Gun Restrictions in Churches, on School Grounds

Just before the mass shootings that killed nearly two dozen people earlier this month, Texas passed 10 controversial laws loosening gun restrictions in the Lonestar State.

According to NBC News, the new gun rights bills were signed into law by Texas Governor Gregg Abbott before the deadly shooting in El Paso, TX that left 22 people dead.

The new laws – which will go into effect next month – will loosen gun restrictions in foster homes, schools and churches among other places.

According to House Bill 2363, foster parents are permitted to possess a firearm for personal protection purposes. The bill asserts that foster parents who own guns will no longer be required to store their weapon and ammunition separately. The bill amends this requirement to allow the weapon and munitions to be stored together in the same locked location.

This practice is one that the National Shooting Sports Foundation – a pro-gun organization – discourages gun owners from following.

Senate Bill 535also loosens restrictions on guns by amending the law to allow those lawfully possessing a firearm to carry it in “a church, synagogue, or other established place of religious worship.” According to the law, the goal of allowing gun owners to carry their firearms in places of worship was to clarify that places of worship are to be treated like other privately-owned property. The law does specify, however, that churches do have the right to determine whether people will be allowed to carry guns on their property.

Restrictions were also loosened in regard to how firearms can be stored in vehicles parked at public or charter schools. According to HB 1143, “A school district or open-enrollment charter school may not prohibit a person, including a school employee, who holds a license to carry a handgun… from transporting or storing a handgun or other firearm or ammunition in a locked, privately owned or leased motor vehicle in a parking lot, parking garage, or other parking area provided by the district or charter school and may not regulate the manner in which the hand gun, firearm, or ammunition is stored in the vehicle, provided that the handgun, firearm, or ammunition is not in plain view.”

Texas’ new gun laws have been met with both praise and harsh criticism.

Senator Donna Campbell who co-sponsored SB 535 noted that the bill is meant to ensure that people can defend themselves.

“We have learned many times over that there is no such thing as a gun free zone. Those with evil intentions will violate the law and carry out their heinous acts no matter what,” Campbell said in a statement according to Fox 47 News. “It makes no sense to disarm the good guys and leave law-abiding citizens defenseless where violent offenders break the law to do great harm,” she added.

Others worry that the legislation is moving in the wrong direction. Houston Police Chief Art Acevedo called HB 1177 into question. House Bill 1177 will allow all persons licensed or not to carry their gun(s) while evacuating from or returning to a declared state or local disaster area. The Bill also allows disaster relief shelters to determine if they will accommodate people who are armed. The bill was proposed as a protective measure from looters amid natural disasters. Acevedo, however, worries that this will only enable gang members to run rampant. He said in a statement, “We experienced one of the worst disasters in Texas history during Harvey. This bill wasn’t needed then and isn’t needed now. This will embolden 20,000+ gang members and will not help law enforcement.”

Reportedly five out of the 20 deadliest mass shootings in America since 1900 have occurred in Texas, with nearly 1.4 million licensed gun owners living in the state.

Freedom… As Long AS You’re Not Christian

Christian values and beliefs have come under fire for centuries, but our present times have seen such opposition that can have a person’s head reeling from the forceful nature of it. We have been told that it is okay to believe, as long as your beliefs do not go against the ruling beliefs of the age.

People can speak easily of their rights, in fact, it falls off their tongues at the drop of a hat. You have the freedom of speech, freedom to follow your own beliefs, and the list goes on. However, as soon as a Christian exercises their rights in certain (most) respects, they receive opposition that can often be violent if you’re not vigilant. Of course, we are well aware that we will suffer as Jesus suffered if indeed we are His, but I wonder if people stop to think about what they are saying and accusing us of before they actually retaliate with some words or even fists?

This ‘topic’ circulated in my head after I came across news concerning Chick-fil-A, the popular American food franchise. There is apparently some controversy involving a report from the liberal outlet ThinkProgress that states the Chick-fil-A Foundation gave $1.8 million to three organisations “with a record of anti-LGBTQ discrimination.” The organisations and the donations given were:

*$1,653,416 to the Fellowship of Christian Athletes
*$6,000 to the Paul Anderson Youth Home
*$150,000 to the Salvation Army

Most of the Foundation’s money actually went to mainstream Christian organisations, but as with all things media, this was just an attempt to demonise the company because it is Christian. Chick-fil-A CEO Dan Cathy once said that we’re “inviting GOD’S judgement on our nation when we shake our fist at him and say we know better than You as to what constitutes a marriage.” Needless to say, the media had a field day with that!

Okay, first of all, Chick-fil-A is a Christian company which means that they operate according to Christian values whether it is in business or giving. Secondly, they have the right to give to whoever they feel like giving the money to, right? But as it does not fit the criteria of ThinkProgress, then it’s wrong?

That logic is flawed, nitpicking at best. They are complaining about Christians being Christian, where’s the sense in that? It is no secret that we believe that homosexuality is wrong, that same-sex marriage is wrong, and that sexual purity is essential for all Christians.

I do not see it as discrimination, but obedience to GOD’S Word, but of course, people will twist, harp on, demonise, and fight everything to do with the Almighty because they believe the lies of the devil.
